ABA takes on Calendar Girls

Ashley Bolser Agency (ABA), have been appointed to create a webpage for the sale of Calendar Girls chocolates in aid of Leukemia Research.

The chocolates are being manufactured by Yorkshire based family run Whitakers Chocolates, who share their local heritage with the original Calendar Girls. The Calendar Girls started in memory of John Richard Baker, an assistant national park officer for the Yorkshire Dales, who died from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in July 1998 aged 54.

During his illness John’s friends, now known as the Calendar Girls, raised money for leukemia and lymphoma research by posing naked for a Calendar which they sold across the community. To date, the Calendar Girls have raised more than £1 million for Leukemia Research and inspired the film with the same title starring Helen Mirren and Julie Walters.Ashley Bolser, managing director of ABA, said: “After a recent analysis, I am pleased to announce that over half the recent visitors to the site have been driven by our pay per click campaign, which is fantastic.

“To be able to work for such a worthy cause, and achieve immediate results like this gives us all a great sense of achievement and we hope that the chocolates continue to prove a successful means of fundraising for Leukemia Research.”
