
When drivers have a crash they need to speak to the right department to make a claim. But who do you call? Most people end up dialling a general enquiries number and then find themselves being transferred to an automated phone system not ideal! Budget asked us to develop a campaign that gave their customers access to the claims line in the most effective way.
When you have an emergency where do you get the number from? Instead of utilising the usual direct channels we tried something different and much more personal. We sent an initial explanatory text message and followed it up with a business card containing the claims line number to save into the mobile phone address book.
By selling the importance of the number and the enhanced levels of service from Budget we ensured that most people saved the business card into their phone. By cold calling customers we found out that they loved the service aspect of the campaign and how easy it was for them to use the business card (only 2 stages!). SMS sceptics will be interested to note that there were no complaints to this campaign.
When used appropriately, text is extremely powerful and scaleable. We love doing text campaigns as clients are often extremely surprised by the positive results that can be achieved.
